| Abstract | Graduate chemical education has features that are distinct from undergraduate chemistry degree programs. Here, I will discuss strategies that I have deployed in my graduate-level course “the chemistry of organic polymers”. I will specifically focus on how evaluatory methods outside of traditional in-class exams have led to improved student outcomes. Throughout this discussion, I will review how a “growth mindset” paradigm can be effective for long-term student outcomes. |
