Abstract | Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are polymer matrices featuring artificial recognition sites precisely tailored to match the size, shape, and spatial arrangement of specific template molecules introduced during polymerization. Upon removal of the template, MIPs exhibit a cavity with remarkable affinity and selectivity towards the target molecule. Aflatoxin, a carcinogenic compound found in various food sources, poses significant health risks to both humans and animals. This research aims to design MIPs capable of efficiently detecting and extracting aflatoxins, thereby addressing a critical need for enhanced food safety measures. |
