Abstract | Click chemistry is a fusion of the principles of click and inorganic chemistry. This seminar will outline the origins of iClick, applications, unexpected results, and future outlook. Recent highlights will be reviewed, including: strain-promoted metal-azide alkyne cycloadditions, porous organometallic polymers, and extended π-conjugated derivatives for photoluminescent applications. Aurophilic interactions, characterized by gold-gold interactions, play a pivotal role in iClick chemistry and several applications in metallopolymer synthesis, light-emitting materials, and excited-state dynamics. |
